The NDRC Australia Day Nationals rolls into Sydney Dragway this Friday and Saturday and promises to be a massive two days filled with nonstop action. The Australia Day celebration will include burnouts which won’t be in short supply with almost 250 cars & bikes entered.
Those who get on top of the tune up early in the hot and humid conditions will be set up best for Raceday. Forecasted 36c means the celebration of Sydney Dragway’s 20 year anniversary will be not to different from its Grand opening, meaning it’s sure to be an amazing event with almost all the group one categories in attendance.
Our two wheeled friends Pro Stock Motorcycle Australia will be joining us again after a layoff due to insurance issues. Aswell as a lineup of 8 Top Fuel dragsters, Top Doorslamer, Pro Alcohol and a full sportsman line up. So far, Pro stock have a full field of 8 cars entered with the likes of the Treymayne’s and others still missing. Rob Dekert has his name on the entry list as he looks to continue his dominant form from the first round where he managed low-et in all three rounds of racing. He is joined by Rick Chilton and Omar Sedmak who both look to continue seeking consistency out of their Mopar machines. Tony Polito will fly the Ford flag with Bill Perdikaris as they linger ever so close to the 6 second zone. Mario Polito who had a quick turn around after his trip to the sand in October. Chris Soldatos will be chasing championship points in his record setting Pontiac. Aswell as Ray Oxley who will be making his debut on the weekend.
