CHRIS SOLDATOS SEEKS REDEMPTION AFTER CHALLENGING ROUND 1

Chris Soldatos, driver of the Soldatos Motorsports Pontiac GTO, opened the NDRC/PDRC Championship season with a display of resilience in Round 1. National Record holder and Pro Stock veteran reflected on his first-round loss to Barbagallo: “In the all-run format, it’s crucial to get the win and a good time. We had the ET points but couldn’t get the win light, which set us back.” Despite a loss in round 1 against John Barbagallo, the team remained optimistic for the rest of the event, fueled by their unyielding spirit.

The team bounced back from the first-round loss as Chris Soldatos secured a B final spot with a strong 6.95-second pass, defeating Mario Polito’s 7.10. “After the first round, we knew we had to come up with a win light, and we did just that,” said Soldatos, his determination shining through. In the B final, Soldatos faced Rick Chilton for third place. Both drivers had clean starts, but Soldatos’ 6.99 was enough to beat Chilton’s 7.04. Reflecting on the weekend, he said, “We could have had a worse weekend. We didn’t get a win, but we’re in a good place heading into Round 2 at The Bend. There will be fast cars, so we’ll need to be on our game.”

Pro Stock will return to its birthplace of South Australia on February 8-9 for Round 2 of the NDRC/PDRC Championship and National Record holder Chris Soldatos will be in attendance, ready to unleash his GTO. Last time at The Bend, National Champion Rob Dekert came within .002 of Soldatos’ 6.859 National Record. With the competition heating up in the Pro Stock field could we see either Dekert, Soldatos or someone else reset the record in just two weeks’ time?
