David Gauldie will be at Willowbank Raceway tomorrow and his entry rounds up the entrants for the inaugural round of Nostalgia Pro Stock at this weekends Nostalgia Drags event. This Cutlass is the ex Frank Nirta car, a periodic competitor in Pro Stock throughout the years. Usually racing in Top Sportsman Gauldie runs low 7.30’s so he will have to slow down to meet the 7.90 ET cutoff.
However, running to a fixed index is not out of David’s skillset, as a Super Gas racer in his past he knows what it takes to run to a fixed index and nail the pro tree, so he will no doubt be a tough competitor going into racing tomorrow. With 3 qualifying runs in the morning he will have time to dial in to the 7.90 cutoff. “I have had some time with the pro tree but I am a bit rusty, luckily we will have a few opportunities before racing”.
Running Top Sportsman in recent years Gauldie is looking forward to returning to the Pro tree as well as racing other Pro Stock cars from the prior generation. “It has always been a lifelong dream to run Pro Stock, it is a drivers bracket with naturally aspirated engines, so to be apart of the first Nostalgia Pro Stock bracket is awesome”.
