Gerry Parente is a seasoned Australian Pro Stock racer from Adelaide. He started in the early 1990s with an Oldsmobile Cutlass but stepped back in the early 2000s due to work commitments and a decline in local drag racing opportunities. In 2015, Parente returned to Pro Stock with the support of his family, building a Chevrolet Camaro with RJ Race Cars and developing an engine program with Reher Morrison Race Engines. However, challenges with AIR led to another hiatus. With the opening of Dragway at The Bend, Parente returned to racing in April 2024 at the Riverbend Nationals, after a six-year break.
