The opening round of the 23/24 NDRC Pro Stock championship saw a mixed bag of emotions for the DONRIC motorsport entry being best of the rest untill a minor issue caused the team to push back following the burnout in the final round against Rob Dekert. Not letting that get to them the team have all eyes on the Australia Day Nationals at Sydney Dragway on the 26th & 27th of this month.
Ever since stepping into the beautiful White Mopar, the DONRIC motorsport team have been slowly creeping up on the setup of the car, now solidly up the front of the field they will definitely have the like’s of Rob Dekert and Chris Soldatos keeping a keen eye on them going into the remaining rounds
The DONRIC team are looking forward to spending Australia Day weekend with the family and friends at Sydney dragway. Putting on a show for what is sure to be a packed crowd, Chilton adds “we’re a family team with kids & grandkids at the ready, aswell as our brains trust Dean & Shauna”. Showcasing just how drag racing really is a family sport.
Going off prior years the weather may become an issue for the naturally aspirated small blocks as the heat and humidity can have a drastic impact on the cars performance “Racing in hot weather can be a challenge, we will probably have to change gearbox and rear end ratios aswell as jetting changes” said Chilton as he looks forward to the Australia Day Nationals with fingers crossed for Pro Stock friendly conditions. However, if last years meeting was anything to go by all the drivers and crew will need to stay hydrated and as cool as they can. Luckily for Rick he has an ice vest/cool suit which may be the key come race day.
