LUKE ROMEO READY TO TAKE ON NOSTALGIA PRO STOCK

This weekend at Sydney Dragway, 18 year old Luke Romeo will be lining up in his 1991 VP Commodore, a car that’s got plenty of history behind it. Powered by a small block Chevy engine built by Intouch Automotive, the Commodore is a weapon on the track and has had multiple championships in its time. Previously owned by Steve Flynn and had an eventful life in Pro Stock and Super Stock, it’s had its fair share of glory, even picking up a championship in 1997 while running C/Gas. Though Luke’s not ready to run full-time in Nostalgia Pro Stock just yet, he’s sure to turn heads in this class at the Day of The Drags event.

Luke’s been involved in drag racing for years, starting in Junior Dragster and then working his way up to Super Gas, running a personal best of 9.90 at 153 MPH. The nostalgia and competitiveness of Pro Stock racing is what’s drawing him to this class, with its raw, high RPM engines and tight racing. “The racing is so close and competitive, the sound of the naturally aspirated engines revving at high RPM, there’s just nothing like it,” Luke says. For him, it’s all about the thrill of the category. “It’s an intense class, and I love the entertainment it brings.

With the support of his tight knit crew, including his dad, his mates Joseph, Christian, and Anthony, and his ever supportive Nonna and Nonno. Luke’s ready to bring his A-game. And while he’s focused on racing, he’s also aiming for the Best Showman award. His plan? “You’ll find out on the track” he says.

Luke’s sponsors, Intouch Automotive, Burson’s Narellan, VP Race Fuels, and Atlantic Oils, have been crucial to his success, and will be on board with him this weekend.

It’s shaping up to be an action-packed weekend at Sydney Dragway, and Luke Romeo is one driver you won’t want to miss as he pushes his 1991 VP Commodore to the limit in the Nostalgia Pro Stock class.
