After years of speculation and debate the first official Nostalgia Pro Stock bracket will feature at the upcoming Nostalgia Drags meet at Willowbank Raceway on Saturday August 10. It will be open to all Pro Stock bodied cars pre 1999 without forced induction and feature heads up pro tree racing with a 7.90 ET cutoff. APSOA Vice President Joe Polito said “The idea of a Nostalgia Pro Stock class is awesome with the potential for a lot of success given the amount of cars in the country that would enjoy a chance at the pro tree”.
The idea of Nostalgia Pro Stock is to put on a show with big burnouts/dry hops and staging duels. And in the spirit of the class best presented and best showman trophies will also be awarded alongside winner and runner up.
Over 12 months ago the idea of starting a Nostalgia Pro Stock bracket was floated around Facebook and a group was formed by Neville Kettels titled: Australian Nostalgia Pro Stock(Where are they now). which rapidly grew in members. The idea of creating a nostalgia bracket arose again and a break away Facebook group was formed with purely owners and stakeholders to discuss and agree on a ruleset which would legitimise the bracket. As such Willowbank Raceway have added Nostalgia Pro Stock to the list for their upcoming Nostalgia Drags event. Entries are still open so if you have an able car and want to race Pro Stock for the day, get your entry in.
